Adoption Overview $1,000

Sharon - aka Specific Vow

Sharon is a 2022 unraced Thoroughbred mare, registered as "Specific Vow" who was rescued as part of a group referred to as the "Franklin 13" from a case of severe neglect in December 2024. Sharon was one of the most emaciated horses from that case but is finally turning a corner and feeling better.

Sharon is up to a much healthier weight now. She has been saddled and ridden around the outdoor arena here at KHS. She has had some challenges with thin soles so she is currently wearing front shoes to keep her more comfortable. Sharon was polite for her first evaluation ride and is ready to get back into the swing of things under saddle. She is still young and therefore does best with guidance under saddle from her rider but is generally a sweet and kind mare. She is not currently offered as a beginner horse.

Sharon is great to catch and lead. She enjoys being groomed and though she was tough to load or hold for the farrier when she arrived, she has improved greatly in both areas with just a little bit of patience and attention. Sharon would love nothing more than to be a pampered friend for someone looking for a great mare.
