Adoption Overview $600

CHOLULA

CHOLULA is an awesome pony who is looking for a great home where she can live a mostly leisurely life as a companion. She is cleared for occasional rides from a lightweight rider. But we hope to find a home for her where her primary job is companionship.

Cholula went to our October Fun Show and was a rockstar. Cholula and her volunteer handler won the costume contest among a very competitive pool of entries. Cholula was not nearly as amused by the bus outfit as were her human counterparts. But she overcame her feelings on the matter and took home the blue. She showed in other classes over the course of the weekend as well and did great.

Our veterinarian has been rechecking Cholula's progress every few weeks and he continues to be impressed by her. She recently got the greenlight for light riding by a petite rider. While she looks bred, she is not. Cholula is on medication for allergies. She will need to be kept primarily outdoors or in an open air stall.

Cholula is well behaved for the vet and farrier. She loads and unloads great on a trailer.

Cholula is currently at a foster home where she is providing companionship for a mini horse. She is also turned out often with several goats and other small animals. She is kind and patient with all.

We don't think that Cholula would be ideal for a home with small children unless we could be guaranteed that they would be well supervised by an adult with horse experience. Cholula is well behaved but also can have a bit of an attitude at times and will need a handler who will give her the respect that very young or inexperienced handlers don't always think to give.

Cholula eats soaked senior feed and soaked alfalfa pellets. She will need to be provided with this feed indefinitely as her teeth are worn. An adopter will need to be able to provide these full soaked meals twice a day.
