SALLY

SALLY CARRERA is a sassy mini mare who is hoping to find an adopter who understands and appreciates a girl with a little attitude. 

Sally is absolutely adorable but not necessarily super affectionate. She is very easy to handle and groom. She leads fine, loads fine, was easy to spray with detangler and we were even able to clip a small bridle path without much of a problem. 

Sally comes from a history of hoof neglect. She is entirely sound but an adopter will need to stay on top of things. She has a split in one of her front hooves that our vet believes is likely from a previous injury. It is visible but is structurally strong according to our vet. Like any mini horse, Sally will need to have a monitored diet that is appropriate for a mini horse. 

Sally's sass surfaces when it is time to catch her. Depending on your abilities this could take a few minutes to an hour. LOL. Our more pony savvy team members can catch her fairly easily. If you are timid or out of practice, she's going to make you work for it, especially if she thinks that once she's caught there's something other than food awaiting her. She can sense how much you know or don't know and you will experience a different pony depending on which end of that spectrum you land. We are (of course) working with her on this, but it will be something that an adopter is going to have to be prepared to continue. She's definitely not "mean" but she is opportunistic. 

We have no information on Sally's prior resume - so we cannot say if she is broke to ride. Our vet says that he sees no medical reason she couldn't be trained for a small child to ride. But an adopter should be savvy enough to train her for this job if that is your goal. She'd also be thrilled to find a home as a sassy little friend/companion/comic/treat bum.
