Adoption Overview $500

Mable

Mable came to Longmeadow when her owners were moving and could no longer care for her. She was anxious upon her arrival, and it took her a while to get used to her new life at the Ranch. However, as she fell into a daily routine and began her evaluation with our trainers, Mable became more comfortable around staff and volunteers. She met new equine friends and joined her new herd. Slowly but surely, Mable started to settle into her new chapter of life with us!

Upon evaluation, our trainer found that the more Mable familiarized herself with a routine, the more willing she would be during training. As an Arabian, she needed to be kept engaged during her training sessions, but when engaged and concentrating on a task, Mable was lovely to work with. Our trainers also found that this pretty mare had previous training under saddle! She would allow a rider on her and could steer and stop. Here at Longmeadow, Mable has only been ridden at a walk in our indoor arena. At this time she is only appropriate as a lead line riding horse but we believe with more work and muscle-building exercises, this sweet Arabian is full of potential! Mable will require an intermediate handler and will need a 60 refresher with a professional trainer if being adopted as a (non-lead-line) riding horse.
