Adoption Overview $400

Rhiannon

Meet Rhiannon! This sweet girl has settled into life at the Ranch and is now ready to settle into life at her forever home!

Rhiannon arrived as an owner surrender. Upon her arrival, we noted that she had swelling in her right hind pastern. After being evaluated by a vet, we found that the swelling was caused by an older "healed" injury to her pastern joint, which led to advanced arthritis. The vet determined that she would never be comfortable while being ridden, but could potentially be comfortable as a pasture pet. We put her out in a pasture with other horses and are closely monitoring her comfort levels every day. So far, Rhiannon has not shown signs of discomfort as a pasture pet!

We are so glad to know that Rhiannon will still be able to find her forever home. She is an easy keeper and gets along with mares and geldings, although she is definitely the "boss" of her herd. She enjoys being groomed but can be a but pushy on the ground at times, so she should go to an experienced adopter who knows how to gently correct negative behavior as it arrises. Rhiannon is great for our farrier and standing tied. This mare would make a good addition to your herd at home or as a pasture companion to your horse who needs a buddy!
