Secret Crush

4 year old thoroughbred gelding bred in KY
Candy Ride (ARG) (Ride the Rails) out of Elarose by Storm Cat
Eligible for the Retired Racehorse Project's
THOROUGHBRED MAKEOVER COMPETITION!

16..3 hands. He last worked on 4/18/24. He retired in April 2025 with a left front suspensory tear with sesamoid involvement. He is currently turning out with one other gelding.  If he is sound in August under saddle at the trot, and stays that way long term, he may be suitable for low level sport use. He will be suitable for trails later this summer.

He is currently under saddle at the walk and we are trotting him in straight lines only through September. He is sound under saddle.

He was gelded in November 2024.

Crush is a fun gelding to have in the barn. He can be mouthy and playful. He is quiet when turned out and is quiet in his stall as well. He seems to be an easy keeper. He can get feisty when being groomed and bathed however, he does walk nicely on a lead rope. He will need an adopter that has experience with harder to deal with thoroughbreds. He can be sneaky with his antics and needs proper, kind correction when he acts out. He was good for the vet and farrier. He will be a fun horse to bring along and teach. He's easy on the eyes as well.

Crush is very well behaved under saddle and his injury has healed well. He listens well to his rider and so far, has been somewhat lazy at the trot requiring a lot of leg. He should make a nice riding partner. A PPE is recommended for athletic use.
