Adoption Overview $850

Secret Crush

4 year old thoroughbred gelding bred in KY
Candy Ride (ARG) (Ride the Rails) out of Elarose by Storm Cat
Eligible for the Retired Racehorse Project's
THOROUGHBRED MAKEOVER COMPETITION!

16.3 hands. He last worked on 4/18/24. He retired in April 2025 with a left front suspensory tear with sesamoid involvement. He is currently turning out with one other gelding. He will be suitable for trails, flatwork and possibly jumping (PPE recommended).

Crush is currently under saddle at the walk, trot and canter. He is sound at all 3 gaits and looks fantastic. He is spirited and may need a more confident rider at this time.

Crush is a fun gelding to have in the barn. He is quiet in his stall and does well with large, confident geldings in the field. He can be mouthy and playful, and is sneaky with his antics. Crush's adopter will need to be comfortable providing proper, kind correction,  especially during grooming and bathing. Crush walks nicely on a lead rope and he is good for the vet and farrier. For a skilled adult adopter who loves personality, Crush will be a fun horse to bring along and teach.

Crush was gelded in November 2024. He seems to be an easy keeper.

HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS EVENT: All horses will be half off the listed adoption fee if adopted and picked up by 12/15/25. Limited use horses and companions will have a waived fee for qualified and responsible homes that can commit to a lifetime home or will return the horse to Second Stride if no longer able to keep the horse and can't find an appropriate home.
