Adoption Overview $850

Sea The Skies

5 year old thoroughbred gelding bred in KY
Midshipman (Unbridled's Song) out of Floating Sky by Malibu Moon
Eligible for the Retired Racehorse Project's
THOROUGHBRED MAKEOVER COMPETITION!

17 hands. He last raced on 3/5/25 and retired sound. He does have screws in a hind ankle. We are not sure when the injury happened. He is currently turning out with another gelding and is doing well. He was well-mannered when meeting the gelding and they became fast friends.

Sea the Skies aka Gingy is a giant, kind, lovable,  less-than-genius gelding. He takes a little longer to grasp new concepts, but once he understands, he remembers and performs consistently. He is very patient for his grooming sessions, vet sessions and farrier sessions. If you are into the tall and lovable type, look no further!

Gingy is well behaved when on a lead and is respectful of his handlers. He doesn't seem to have a mean bone in his body. We haven't noticed any vices. He is also well behaved under saddle with a big walk and trot. He enjoys his job and works hard to please. He does well on a solo farm hack and doesn't seem to be spooky.

Gingy handles farm events with music and loud speakers very well. He snuggles up to mascots and people in costumes. He loves being pet by our visitors in wheelchairs. Gingy would be wonderful in any role requiring a steady, gentle presence.

Gingy will be best suited to light pleasure riding at the walk and trot, or to equine therapy.
