Adoption Overview $1,050

Jose Patio

5 year old thoroughbred gelding bred in MN
Cinco Charlie (Indiam Charlie) out of Smarty Prance by Added Edge
Eligible for the Retired Racehorse Project's
THOROUGHBRED MAKEOVER COMPETITION!

16.2 hands. He last worked on 6/30/24 and retired in late winter 2024 with a right front suspensory injury. He has rehabbed and is ready to get started back under saddle.

Jose has a kind and willing personality with an intelligent disposition. He has a lovely roman head with a kind eye. He is well mannered for grooming and is respectful when walking on a lead rope. He enjoys being out 24/7 but does do well in a stall. He stays quiet in his stall and settles down quickly to graze. He goes out with other geldings and does very well. He has been turned out with a mini horse and did well.

Jose will need another 6 months (late fall 2025) before returning to full work. He can lightly walk and trot now. He is ready now for any type of trail riding and easy flat work.

He was good for grooming and stood well for the vet and farrier.
