Adoption Overview $750

J's Beach Bum

4 year old thoroughbred gelding bred in IN
Omaha Beach (War Front) out of Carrington Event by Street Boss
Eligible for the Retired Racehorse Project's
THOROUGHBRED MAKEOVER COMPETITION!

16.2 hands. He last raced on 5/14/25 and retired with a left front medial splint head fracture that was surgically repaired.

J has healed well from his surgery and is working well at the walk and trot in the arena and on leisurely farm rides. He is polite at the mounting block and is a straightforward ride who listens well and has big swinging gaits. With light work through the winter, J should be ready for light athletics in the spring. His long-term prognosis includes flatwork and jumping if care is taken with his rehab riding. Someone will be very lucky to work with this intelligent, willing youngster.

J enjoys daily turnout with two other gentle young geldings. He can be mildly bossy but should not be turned out with rough companions.

J stands well for the farrier and vet. He has no known vices. He appreciates a blanket in temperatures low thirties and under.

HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS EVENT: All horses will be half off the listed adoption fee if adopted and picked up by 12/15/25. Limited use horses and companions will have a waived fee for qualified and responsible homes that can commit to a lifetime home or will return the horse to Second Stride if no longer able to keep the horse and can't find an appropriate home.
