Adoption Overview $950

Free Country

3 year old thoroughbred gelding bred in KY
Distorted Humor (Forty Niner) out of Boy Crazy by Sky Mesa
Eligible for the Retired Racehorse Project's
THOROUGHBRED MAKEOVER COMPETITION!

15.3 hands. He last worked on 4/9/25 and retired sound. We are not aware of any injuries. He raced twice and has one published work. He had time off at the end of last year to grow. He was not interested in being a racehorse. This guy comes from a spectacular line with the likes of Distorted Humor, Sky Mesa, Forty Niner, Mr. Prospector, Danzig and Pulpit in his lineage.

Free Country is a kind and well mannered gelding. Nothing seems to bother him. He settled in quickly to retirement and is quiet when out and keeps to himself in the stall. He stands well for grooming, vet and farrier. He walks nicely on a lead rope, and we haven’t noticed any vices. He stays quiet in the field and settles down to graze quickly. A sensible fellow.

He is ready and willing to get started in a new career. He should be suitable for any discipline.
