Carmel Angel

9yo Thoroughbred Gelding $750

Carmel Angel $750

9 year old thoroughbred gelding bred in MN
Sidney's Candy (Candy Ride (ARG)) out of B J's Angel by Stormy Business

16.1 hands. He last raced in 2021 and reportedly retired sound. We are not aware of any injury history. He enjoys living outside 24/7 but can also spend time in a stall during the day. He would not be happy in a stall during the longer overnight hours on a regular basis.

Caramel is an intelligent gelding who thrives when surrounded by his equine friends and who enjoys friendly, low key interaction with his people. He relishes one-on-one grooming sessions loose in his stall or tied, and is very polite with his handlers.

Caramel has very nice ground manners - he walks nicely on a lead rope, is easy to blanket, likes baths, waits nicely to go through gates, and is polite when his grain is brought into his stall. He loves treats and waits patiently while others receive theirs, too. He is a good friend in the field - a natural leader but will give way to a more dominant horse. Caramel would be an excellent companion to a horse, donkey or mule of any age.

Caramel is not suitable for riding due to recurring anxiety issues under saddle involving unsafe behavior. Second Stride WILL NOT adopt Caramel as a riding horse.

What you’ll love:

  • Mature mindset compared to younger horses

  • Very cooperative - a gentleman!

Ideal for:

  • A horse-savvy family looking for backyard pets

  • Anyone needing a companion for a yearling, young equine or elder - mare or gelding!
