onic's first required post and 1 month update:
Sonic has spent his first month with me working towards becoming a relaxed equine good citizen who's at home in his work environment and gaining tools to become a riding horse. When he arrived we knew we had a predisposition to bolt away in hand that needed to be addressed. We've made great progress with this and worked hard to make his response go from panic, to check in and stick with his person. As he gained confidence we got out of the barnyard, and into the big barn, arena and round pen.
He's begun his under-saddle education while remaining mostly focused on groundwork. He's making friends wherever he goes and is proving to be a quick learner and willing. I'm excited for what the next month brings for him!

Horses are typically located in the Appalachian area, but please inquire about a horse's specific location when you apply!

We are looking to adopt to safe homes.

A history of good horsemanship, the ability to provide sufficient care with good vet, farrier and peer references are important. If you are a first-time horse owner, we will require you to board at a facility for the first year while you learn more about care. We encourage everyone to take advantage of riding lessons.

Foal adoptions require previous, established experience with youngsters.

Our adoption process makes sure you get the right horse for you – it is a no-fail process for finding the right match.
