Name: Santiago
Breed: Mustang
Sex: Gelding
Age: 2013
Height: 14.1hh
Color: Bay
Adoption Fee: $1000
Santiago came from a BLM sale in EWING Illinois. He was a 3 strike mustang, that meant that he was offered at sale to anyone who would pay $25.00. If Heart of Phoenix would not have taken him, he would have gone to a long-term holding facility, where he wouldn’t have been adopted. Santiago was initially not very trusting of humans, but has made tremendous gains after participating in a 100 day training competition. Despite this progress, he was not adopted after the event and is still available. Santiago will be continuing his training with Adkins Quarter Horses. Santiago has done considerable trail riding, and would make a great ranch or trail partner for an experienced rider.
Adoption fees may be outdated, as a horse may have moved into training, so check us on most current fee. Horses typically adopted UTD on vaccines, dental floats, farrier care and all vet needs.
We are looking to adopt to safe homes.
A history of good horsemanship, the ability to provide sufficient care with good vet, farrier and peer references are important. If you are a first time horse owner, we will require you to board at a facility for the first year while you learn more about care. We encourage everyone to take advantage of riding lessons.
Foal adoptions require previous, established experience with youngsters.
Our adoption process makes sure you get the right horse for you – it is a no fail process for finding the right match. Apply at https://horseandridermatch.com/adopt-a-horse/
