Tabasco Flaxen Chestnut gelding Stocky type Appalachian Brumby 14.3hh 2017 model Advanced Beginner with Trainer Tabasco is a very handsome, intelligent, and stocky Brumby who is ready to be your new best friend! He comes right to you in the pasture and goes to work every day with a good attitude. He hasn't offered any bite/kick/buck/bolt/rear, and when something sudden spooks him he's very quick to settle down with no funny business. He is a steady and reliable trail horse with a ground covering walk. He's happy to go that speed all day on a loose rein, but he's also willing to move out if you ask him. He has a comfortable trot and a slow, easy to ride canter. He will carry you over or across anything and loves to play in the water! He would thrive as a trail horse. Tabasco also really enjoys liberty and trick training, picking up new things quickly. He learns best from the ground up, meaning that introducing new things in groundwork before translating into the saddle helps him to understand and be more confident. He will look to you for leadership and support, and is looking to build a strong connection based on trust with his person. He's a horse you can ride bareback in a halter around the farm. He rides out alone or in a group. He will occasionally call back to his friends while out riding, but he doesn't try to turn around or jig his way back to the barn. He leads, loads, bathes, and LOVES to be groomed and loved on. He will also line himself right up to the mounting block and stand like a statue to be mounted. He will do just about anything for a peppermint treat, which makes him very easy to trick train! Overall, Tabasco is a sweet, sensitive horse who is very good at communicating with his person. He has a puppy dog demeanor on the ground, and his cute face and droopy bottom lip are sure to win the hearts of everyone who meets him. Apply to adopt Tabasco at the ATFO event in August!

We are looking to adopt to safe homes.
A history of good horsemanship, the ability to provide sufficient care with good vet, farrier and peer references are important. If you are a first-time horse owner, we will require you to board at a facility for the first year while you learn more about care. We encourage everyone to take advantage of riding lessons.
Foal adoptions require previous, established experience with youngsters.
