Mocha

Meet Mocha, a handsome spotted draft gelding with a sweet, social personality and an eye-catching presence. Mocha loves attention and enjoys being around people—he’s curious, friendly, and thrives on connection. However, he can also be flighty and occasionally pushy, so he’ll need an experienced handler familiar with the strength and sensitivity of draft horses.

Mocha is believed to have been part of a driving team with another draft named Ezra, who is reportedly his brother, because of this they are very bonded and we would love if they could be adopted together and will offer a discounted adoption fee if they go to the same home. They are now looking for a quiet, restful life where he can settle in and just be a horse. While he’s not fully trained for barn life yet, he’s learning—and with patience, consistency, and calm leadership, he has the potential to form a strong bond and become a reliable horse. Mocha stands well for the vet and farrier without stocks or sedation and is currently pastured outside 24/7 with shelter in a herd of geldings.

As with many heavy drafts, Mocha requires careful pasture, diet, and grass management to maintain a healthy weight. His new home will need someone knowledgeable about draft horse care who can ensure his nutritional needs are met without overfeeding or risking metabolic issues.

Mocha would do best in a peaceful environment with someone who understands his needs, honors his past, and is willing to help him transition into this next chapter with kindness and time.
