Adoption Overview $500

Henry

Introducing our senior sweetheart, Henry, a 25-year-old gelding who proves every single day that age is only a number. Surrendered due to financial hardship, this handsome boy arrived at our shelter in Ojai, CA, with a heart full of love and a spirit untouched by circumstance. From the moment you see him standing in his food bucket, you’ll understand why everyone here has fallen head-over-hooves for him.

This gelding is the definition of in-your-pocket friendly—a genuine people-lover who seeks connection, companionship, and a hand to nuzzle. He enjoys the company of other horses and is particularly smitten with the ladies. Though he’s gelded, he remains a hopeless romantic, forming deep emotional bonds with mares.

Henry has a background in riding and trail work and still carries himself like a horse half his age. If you’re looking for a partner to enjoy light riding, bonding time, and quiet adventures, he would be thrilled to step back into that role. However, he prefers to mosey at his own pace, enjoying his surroundings, rather than trot. According to his foster parent, Henry would be a great lead-line horse for kids or a top-tier pasture mate. His enthusiasm, energy, and youthful spark make him a joy to work with.

Always a gentleman, he stands beautifully in the wash rack and is cooperative during treatments. Recently, he underwent the removal of one eye due to an old injury that could no longer be treated, but he hasn’t let that dim his shine. His cheerful nature remains intact—just be sure to speak to him on the correct side!

This lovely gelding is ready to bring warmth, charm, and unwavering loyalty to his next home. If you're searching for a seasoned companion with the heart of a youngster and the soul of a best friend, Henry is waiting to meet you. Submit an adoption inquiry today to set up a meet and greet!
