Greta is a lovely Kentucky Mountain Saddle Horse. Greta is showing herself to be competent, youth suitable, trail ready, and is working towards going to her first show on Oct.31. She is a Kentucky Mountain Horse/Saddle Horse cross. She has a smooth gait with great cadence to it. We haven’t found her to be spooky, is great with farrier, loading and hauling, and is learning to stand at the mounting block. Greta needs a very specific home with a routine and Intermediate rider, or could be in a lesson program with the right instructor. Consistent work is best for Greta. Her fosters absolutely love her and know you will too, so if you are looking for your next partner that’s smoothly gaited, and does well on the trail and in the show pen, she could be your girl!
Her trainer says:
This lovely gaited mare is youth suitable, trail rides and is great in the show pen! She is around 18 years of age, has a great personality, enjoys being with her person and being groomed. She gets nervous in a stall if its completely closed, and asks that you be patient when bridling but is learning to put her head down when asked. She's good standing tied, trailering, and farrier. UTD on all vaccinations, coggins, worming and farrier work. If you have any questions please feel free to ask!
We are looking to adopt to safe homes. A history of good horsemanship, the ability to provide sufficient care with good vet, farrier and peer references are important. If you are a first time horse owner, we will require you to board at a facility for the first year while you learn more about care. We encourage everyone to take advantage of riding lessons. Our adoption process makes sure you get the right horse for you – it is a no fail process for finding the right match. Apply at https://horseandridermatch.com/adopt-a-horse/
