This horse is available for adoption only. This is not a foster opportunity. || This three-year-old Super Saver gelding will catch your eye immediately! Storyteller is a beautifully-built guy and he knows it! In fact, his barn name is “Beyoncé” because of his big ego (don’t worry, his pride and sense of masculinity remains untouched by the female name!). The great thing about Storyteller is that while he does have an ego, he can still be reminded of his place and doesn’t get offended when learning some manners.
Storyteller goes out at night with four other geldings and fits comfortably in the higher end of the pecking order. He stands at 15.3hh, but don’t be fooled! He takes up a great amount of the rider’s leg with his warmblood-build and he’ll certainly keep growing and filling out since he is only three! Beyoncé flaunts his ego by being a bit mouthy on the ground, but with a reminder of who is in charge, he refocuses and is respectful.
Under saddle, Storyteller has more whoa than go, but is responsive off of the rider’s leg. He retired from racing with no starts because he bowed his tendon in his left front. However, it was treated aggressively (stem cells/ shockwave/ laser and “blistering” on tendon) and he has not shown any signs of lameness since being in training at our facility. He did have a bilateral superior check desmotomy last October (2019) as well, so our vet recommends little to no jumping (2’ max.), but his beautiful gaits and collection show huge amounts of potential in the dressage ring!
Storyteller would do best with an advanced rider.
