Adoption Overview $900

Dakota

Meet Dakota! This handsome fellow is the whole package. He is very sweet and has impeccable ground manners. Relationships really matter to this guy so a quiet home with someone who wants to build a bond and has only geldings might be the best life for Dakota. We consider him at this time to be an intermediate level riding horse. He is a WONDERFUL trail horse and prefers that lifestyle over arena riding. He crosses water no problem and nothing seems to stop him as long as he has a relationship with his rider. Dakota is quite responsive to the bit and requires very little pressure, as he works more off of leg aids. He needs a balanced rider who knows how to collect, with light hands and adequate leg control. His abilities suggest he has been taught how to do a lot in his past! Dakota is sensitive about his ears and poll area, so he will need someone understanding of his uncertainties. Dakota will also need a properly fitting saddle and pads to ensure his comfort, given his very high withers. Dakota is up to date on all vaccinations, coggins, dental care, and farrier work. So this horse can thrive long term, the rider and tack should be no more than 20% of the horse's weight. In consideration of this animal's size and conformation, weight limit for this equine is limited to under 200 lbs.    Please fill out an interest in adoption form on our website to learn more and schedule an appointment: https://www.hsnt.org/equine-and-livestock He stands at 15.3 hands tall. Dakota is suitable for EAGALA programs; please mention this when you inquire!
